Championships, trophies, and winning records often define a successful coach. Coach Justin’s accomplishments with the U19 Girls Premier team and U14 Boys Premier team certainly stand on their own, including recent Utah State Cup Championships and the development of two of the most competitive and connected teams in the state.
But statistics and titles only tell part of the story.
What truly sets Justin apart is the lasting impact he has on the players he coaches.
Before a recent season, one player was invited to train with Justin’s team after spending several years with another club. The decision to leave a familiar program and join Copper Mountain Soccer was not an easy one, but Justin’s belief in her abilities made the difference. He recognized strengths in her game, communicated them clearly, and gave her confidence that had been missing from her previous experience.
That support continued even before she officially played for him. During the high school season, as she faced challenges and saw her playing time reduced on her school team, Justin noticed. After a difficult match, he reached out with words of encouragement, reassuring her that he believed in her abilities and reminding her of the player she was. At a time when she was considering walking away from the game, his support helped her persevere.
That ability to build confidence and develop players extends throughout his entire team.
The culture Justin has created is one of the defining characteristics of the U19 Girls Premier program. Players compete for each other, support one another, and genuinely enjoy being part of the team both on and off the field. The State Cup title was a remarkable achievement, but for many families, the environment and relationships within the team have been even more meaningful.
Justin’s commitment to his players also reaches beyond club soccer. Knowing one of his players aspired to compete at the collegiate level, he encouraged her to attend a local showcase event during the offseason. There, she caught the attention of a college coach, which ultimately led to a scholarship opportunity and a chance to continue her soccer career at the next level.

Through his leadership, encouragement, player development, and commitment to helping young athletes reach their goals, Coach Justin has done far more than build a successful team. He has created an environment where players believe in themselves, support one another, and achieve more than they thought possible.
The championships are impressive. The impact he has made on his players is even greater.
